Coverage, dates & verification limits · researched October 23, 2026

This is a selected, dated directory from public searches across Vancouver Island and nearby Gulf Island communities. It is not an exhaustive inventory. The first pass includes Change.org and House of Commons pages. Private groups, offline petitions and inaccessible pages may be missing. A community with no results has no verified matching listing here; it does not mean no petitions exist.

We check original URLs, the organizer’s displayed name, request, location, launch/deadline and visible platform status/count when accessible. Counts are platform-wide snapshots and may include people outside Vancouver Island. They are not combined, ranked or treated as verified local residents. Cached observations and missing dates are labelled. External open status moves to “needs checking” after 30 days without review. A known collection deadline takes precedence.

Requests are summarized as organizers’ proposals. A petition page proves what was requested; it does not prove its allegations, legal claims or predicted effects. Material allegations need independent evidence before inclusion. “Victory reported” is the platform’s label, not an independently established outcome. Historical requests may still show a signing button after circumstances have changed.

Tracking-link variants are combined under the original canonical URL. Different or opposing requests remain separate. Confirmed duplicates are removed from browsing, with the record retained for editorial review; closed and withdrawn campaigns can remain clearly labelled. Status changes and evidence corrections are reviewed through welcome@islandtradedirectory.ca. External listings are maintained separately from Local Voices publication records and do not trigger petition delivery.
