Island Trade Directory connects Vancouver Island and surrounding-island trades, contractors, suppliers and equipment services. We share a database platform with Okanagan Trade Directory and share its equipment inventory and network business tools.
Public listings and profile claims
Our launch listings draw on municipal business-licence records, construction associations and public business websites. A listing is not a recommendation, licence check or guarantee of workmanship. Licence jurisdictions can include non-resident businesses. Confirm details with the provider before arranging work.
Businesses can request profile access from their listing. Requests are reviewed before any ownership or management change. We use the name, email, role and message supplied to verify the request and communicate about the listing. Claim-form contact details are not publicly displayed. The directory team can access those details for administration.
Accounts, requests and business photos
Your VITD sign-in uses your existing OKTD network account. Session cookies keep you signed in. Saved businesses and submitted requests are stored in the shared database and are visible only to your account and authorized administrators. Approved owners can edit their own business profile and upload public business photos. Public posting forms identify which fields may be published after review. Private requests and account email addresses are not published with those posts.
Corrections, removal and privacy
To correct a listing, request removal, or ask about your information, email welcome@islandtradedirectory.ca with the listing URL. We retain claim details while handling the request and related profile administration; you can ask us to delete information no longer needed for that purpose.
How we cover construction news
We compile original summaries of public project announcements, procurement records and company updates. Articles identify source dates and link to supporting records. Forecasts, completed projects and open opportunities are distinguished. Send us corrections or fresh project-owner updates to help keep coverage useful.
Featured placement
Featured means promoted placement, not a customer-voted ranking. Ronin Earthworks is owned by the directory operator and has the first featured position in Dump Truck Services. That relationship is disclosed on its profile.
