What the alerts tell you
Useful project context
Permit or application number, published work description, community, source status, dates and original-source links. Company names and roles appear when supported by evidence.
Search categories follow the wording of the public record. An electrical permit describing rooftop equipment belongs to the work it describes; its location alone does not make it a roofing project.
Understand the stage before making contact
A permit applicant, property owner and contractor can be different organisations. An issued permit does not establish a construction start or an invitation to quote. Use the named role and source dates when deciding whom to contact.
“New” means first found in our monitored collection after your watch begins. The municipal application or issue date may be earlier. Historical, closed and cancelled records are excluded from new-watch emails.
Permit Watch questions
How quickly will I hear about new records?
We check the reviewed municipal feeds daily. When new matching records are found, the daily digest includes them. This is not an instant connection to every municipal publishing system.
Will I get the existing records when I sign up?
Your watch starts after email confirmation. Existing records remain available in the public directory; they are not sent as if they were newly published.
Does this sign me up for paid services?
No. Permit Watch is free. You do not need to claim a listing, provide payment details or book a meeting to use it.
Can I change categories or stop the emails?
Yes. Each email includes your private management link. You can change the monitored categories or stop the watch. A watch with no new matches does not receive an empty daily digest.

Availability of records varies by community and category.
